HULKRUFFALO SMASH! x
Anytime students don’t have their work, I give them a pained look and say in an overly-dramatic tone, “What! That’s like a dagger in my heart!” (Sometimes I change it up to “What! That’s like a machete in my soul!” just for creativity’s sake.)
Last Tuesday, one of my juniors didn’t have his reader-response log. The next day, he ran into the workroom during my planning block. “Ms. T! I brought you a Band-Aid,” he said triumphantly. “For what?” He grinned. “For the dagger in your heart, obviously.”
Use the bracelets for assigning students into teams for class projects. Or if you want random team assignment, put the bracelets in a paper bag and have students close their eyes and pick one.
